The WorldVistA organization was co-recipient of the 2007 Linux Medical News Freedom award for its work in getting WorldVistA EHR/VOE 1.0 certified by the Center For Certification of Health Information Technology (CCHIT). The award was presented to WorldVistA at the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) Fall conference: "WorldVistA's achievement was a true team effort and is a benchmark for what the Free and Open Source in medicine community can achieve.
